Addy's New "Big Girl" Room!

It's done! Well, mostly! We have a few paint touch-ups to go, need to anchor her armoire (though for now it's ok, based on it's positioning), and organize the closet (it's about 1/2 way there!)

So, that said.... without further ado... Addy's new "Big Girl" room.

Looking into her room from the hallway.

Her bed - Princess-fied! Butterfly chandelier in the center and then I sewed basic sheers around the outer metal ridge to give it a canopy effect. Those are butterfly decals on the wall behind.

The other corner - her hutch now has a tv in it. The little purple chair (which she LOVES - sits and reads in it all the time!) is from Grandma! The curtains are just faux silk curtains with a cornice box on top. I just took the valance that matched all the fabric and stretched it around wood pieces..with some batting..easy..and turned out great! You can see her rug below too.


A close-up of her bed. We are very pro no bumpers and all, but I have foudn them useful for the toddler stage when they are very much cuddlers. Addy loves her "Bankets" and her pillow. We still use her Angel Care monitor tho...for my sanity and also to know if she gets out of bed.


The corner wall with shelves...and mroe butterflies. That's her hamper down below. The flower arrangement on top is from her great aunt stasia - Reagan had a lavender one. And, of course our Angel Care monitor - we STILL use it! (great for knowing when your toddler is out of bed or not!)

Her bookcase. You can't tell, but there are 2 minnie mouse ears - one has Reagan's name and the other Addy's name...I need to share that photo! The frame on top doesn't have a photo yet, but the other frame is our only family photo. We all look great...dawned in yellow NICU jackets and on no sleep..but hey, we have that photo..for that I'm grateful! Her closet doors are next to the bookcase.

One of the memory walls. Many many angels were given to Charley & myself as well as Addison. We have always just thought...Those belong to Addy. We have several throughout the house, but we keep a lot of them in her room...so Reagan can watch over her while she sleeps...


Her door - As you can see, she has a sign that says "Addy's Room" - thanks again Grandma!

Behind the door. The girls' crosses, their angels, photos of them together, some of their things they got 2 of, etc. Their seraphim angels are up there too. We really do/did cherish every awesome gift we received from our friends and family when the girls were born and we lost Reagan. It's all we have left of our little girl...and all we have left of them as "twins" so we greatly cherish them. Thanks to all again for these momentos that, nearly 2 years later, we still cherish.


This is a photo frame we had at the funeral for Reagan.

This is a frame we got at Things Remembered. Lots of people that visited autographed this and wrote beautiful notes to our little girl.

Believe it or not..this is MY play baby cradle! Yes, it's still alive - thanks to a few family members.. it needs a little touch up, but I used a valance to match the covering of the base of it to her bedding. She loves it...likes to climb in it too!

See this? This was a photo from some of the first photos of I took of Addy's new room - before it was done....well, see that dot? That's an orb, or a spirtual being. Some believe in them, some don't, but my camera lens was clean as I have several photos seconds before and after that shot that show no "dot" and then I checked the room after seeing that photo...sure enough, the wall was fine...so, looks like Reagan has been visiting Addy's room! :) She plays with her toys ALL the time, why not stay with her in her room.. I think it's fitting!
